P.E

This term, the P.E sessions are on Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning. Please can you ensure that your child has a PE kit in school. We will send it home for washing every half term. If your child has their ears pierced, it would be helpful if they do not wear earrings on P.E days or that they are able to remove them themselves. Throughout the year, children in Year 4 will also be going to swimming sessions on Tuesday afternoons. Please make sure that when it is your child’s turn to swim that they have their full kit with them. Your child will know which term they are swimming in.

Swimming

Different groups will swim each term. Your child will be told when it is their turn to swim. Swimming lessons will take place on Tuesday.

Talk Tokens & Homework

A new Talk Token will be given out every Tuesday.

Homework needs to be handed in every Monday. It can be handed in earlier if it is completed before then.

Outdoor Learning

This year, all children in school will be taking part in outdoor learning sessions. Please make sure that your child has a suitable coat, hat, gloves and a pair of wellies in school everyday. We are also asking that they bring in an old oversized t-shirt that will be ok to get dirty.

Fish In a Dish

We try to encourage daily reading in Year 4. Please try to read with your child for at least ten minutes every night. Please can you sign your child's reading diary to show that they have read. We aim to read with your child in school at least once a week and we also have lots of reading opportunities in our lessons.

Every time your child brings their book into school with a SIGNED reading diary they will receive a fish to name and put in our dish! Each Friday before Celebration Worship a fish will be pulled out of the dish. The winner will be aknowledged in Worship and they will get a dip in our prize box. How exciting!

We also spend the last 15 minutes of every day reading a class novel. We are already engrossed in David Walliam's Boy in a Dress,
