This week the children enjoyed a practical maths lesson linked to Place Value and decimal numbers. The children used bean bags and hoops to create numbers and discussed the place value columns.
We also continued reading our class text where we met the hero of the story - Beowulf. The children wrote some fantastic diary entries from Beowulf's point of view. We are all quite excited for the upcoming battle and the children are hoping Grendel, the monster of the night, gets his comeuppance!
The class did some research about the Anglo-Saxons and presented their findings to the rest of the class in groups.
Some of the children participated in Play Leader Training and will use these skills when working with and supporting the infants at lunchtimes.
The candidates for the Pupil Voice Group have been hard at work building on their presentation skills with Mrs Uttley, who will be coming to watch the presentations on Tuesday next week.
