Our worship team are currently working with Rev. Tim and Mrs Wilton …
Another busy week in school
Our focus in worship has been forgiveness and belonging. We really enjoyed the worship led by Miss Schofield and Miss Bryan which helped us to understand that we belong to many things throughout our lives.
The team have also been busy meeting and reporting our findings from our big questions back to Mr T. We were asked to investigate the impact of RE and Worship. It would appear from our findings that children are really enjoying both. Many of our children said they would share RE lessons they had enjoyed with their family at home. Whilst worship is having an immediate impact on the way children behave with each other in and around school (especially on the playground). As a result of this we decided to see if our You’ve Been Spotted awards also show this impact. We will be investigating this over the next few weeks.
It is really nice to see so many parents and friends joining us for our worship both in school and in church and Mrs Wild is currently putting together a scrap book that you will be able to access in church to record any ideas or comments you have about our collective worship. Any time you could take to give us your feedback would be very helpful in showing us the way forward.
On Thursday 15th December we held a collective Worship at Church, organised by our School Worship Team, it was called Expect the Unexpected. Our collective worship included three different other schools: St Paul’s, St Cuthbert’s and St Barnabas.
Recently the worship team led Creative Worship without any help from staff! We really enjoyed it and hope all the classes enjoyed it too.
The Worship team are also planning another big creative worship but with other schools. Next Wednesday we’re shooting our first video for this event, we just can’t wait!
Steven I Yr. 6 (Worship Team)
The Worship team have been busy this week, attending training sessions, meetings and planning for our upcoming worship session next Thursday.
We have also been interviewing pupils across school to see how they are enjoying Worship and what they have learnt. We will be recording our findings in our new Worship scrap book.
More information will be coming soon about our creative Worship for December and plans for the 14th and 15th of December are starting to take shape.

An Invitation from the team!
The school worship team would like to invite you to join us in church on Wednesday 20th May at 7:30pm.
We will be talking about our work in school and the changes we have been making to worship.
We would love to have the input of parents/carers and people from the wider school and church community. See you there!
The spiritual development and journey of all connected to St. James’, from pupils to governors, is at the heart of the way our school operates. We see life as a journey and encourage all members of our school family to explore life’s big questions under the banner of the good news of Jesus. We are constantly seeking new ways and ideas to enhance our collective worship and try to be as creative and imaginative as possible when engaging in an act of worship, whether in class or as a school. The links with our Church are strong and together we are working towards making a positive impact on the people and families within our community.
