Activity 1 - Snowman Song

Maybe you could have a go at learning another song today!

We would love to see some amazing actions to this one!

I’m a Little Snowman

I’m a little snowman

Short and fat. .

Here’s my broom

and here’s my hat!

When it’s cold and icy

I will stay.

But, when it gets all hot

I will melt away!

(Tune of I’ m a little teapot)

Activity 2: The Big Ice Melt

Melting ice with salt and adding food colouring is a simple science project for kids of all ages. Put some water in balloons and leave them in freezer overnight.

The following day sprinkle food colouring, salt or whatever takes your fancy over the frozen balloons to see what melts the ice the best. Make a record of what happens. Maybe you could film your results and send them into us?

Here is a quick link to demonstrate…

Melting Ice With Salt | Simple Science for Kids

Melting ice with salt and adding food colouring is a simple science project for kids of all ages. I added water in balloons and left them in freezer overnight. In the morning we started the experiment. Salt that was added to the ice, started melting it creating beautiful channels. Food colouring followed the melting pattern and made those look really pretty.
