This term in DT we are thinking about food: where food comes from, the eat well plate and the benefits each type of food has on our body.


Our main objective is 'to use ingredients and a variety of techniques to prepare and combine the ingredients safely.'  As part of our topic this half-term, we have been learning about the Stone Age and how the people who lived in this time period used to catch animals and forage for their food.  


We decided to pretend we were Stone Age people and foraged for berries within our school grounds.  We will use the fire pit in our new outdoor classroom to cook the berries and turn them into jam.  As we are the first class to use the fire (we're super excited about this!!!), we had to help Mrs Wilton come up with some important safety rules.  We now know this is known as 'risk assessing'.
