The Parents, Teachers and Friends Association raises funds for the children in our school. Support is always needed and appreciated. They make a tremendous difference to our facilities, for example their money helped to pay for our computer suite which was opened by the then Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw. They have also helped fund some of our outside play equipment. Parent helpers are always welcome in school. Contact the school office to offer your help.
PTFA – THE FACTS
Contact email address: stjamesptfa@hotmail.com
What is the PTFA?
Parents, grandparents, local community, church friends, representatives from school, all working together – Parents Teachers & Friends Association.
What do we do?
We support the school and raise extra money through fundraising and fun events.
What does the money get spent on?
School events – like Christmas Dinner, Year 6 leavers party, Raffle prizes, and larger items. Last year we passed over more than £2000 towards the schools new staging for special shows as it was previously rented!!
Who can join the PTFA?
Anyone linked to the school or community with something to offer! We always need fresh ideas and extra hands at events to help them run smoothly.
When are the meetings?
Usually once every 6/8 weeks to catch up and plan events. Meetings are held in the church lounge at 6pm on a weeknight, and kids are always welcome. There are always toys for them to play with, or they can bring something of their own.
What if you can’t make it to the meetings?
Follow us on our Facebook page and post any ideas you have on there. We’re always open to ideas and feedback.
