Week 3
Transition
This week we have had our transition mornings with our new teacher. We got a nice surprise on Wednesday morning, we are staying in the same classroom. Our new teacher will be Mrs Malik and the teaching assistant will be Mrs Robinson.
We did some work for a display in the classroom, we wrote our thought and dreams to achieve in Year 2 and worked on some PSHE.
English
Our topic in English is now 'Instructions', we discussed why we need them and where we would find them.
We thought about what we need to consider when giving verbal instructions - speaking clearly and giving concise instructions.
We were given some coloured cubes and then instructed to put them together in a specific colour order. We noticed that sometimes we follow visual clue that occur alongside the verbal instructions.
We looked at a recipe for making a jam sandwich and used this to find the common features of written instructions.
