Week 4

What we've been up to this week...

I think the highlight of this week has definitely been our class assembly! It was so, so, SO lovely to welcome families back in to share our learning. Thank you so much if you attended and if you weren't able to, a link will soon be available with a filmed version.

In English we have been learning how to punctuate direct speech with inverted commas. We used macaroni pasta to introduce this concept and the children loved it! We then moved on to using a speech sandwich to structure our our direct speech sentences. Food is the answer to all my problems! Here is our speech sandwich:

We moved on to division in maths, using equipment to support our thinking.

On Thursday and Friday, the dreaded zoom teaching made it's return as I am isolating at home. The children have been FANTASTIC and have really impressed me with how they've just carried on and behaved in class.

Spanish lessons resumed again this week which was met with great excitement by the children. Miss Williams, our Spanish teacher, always comments on how lovely it is to be greeted with such enthusiasm. I don't think she gets the same at her secondary school!

We have continued with our Stone Age learning in history, this time looking at the Amesbury Archer in more detail and thinking about the events in his life.

Have a lovely weekend!!
