Week 5

What we've been up to this week...

This week has been assessment week and the children have tried really hard. I'm so proud of how they have taken them in their stride, as assessments can sometimes be daunting and can cause worry. Well done everybody!

In maths we have finished our study of length and perimeter. We focussed on subtracting length and measuring and calculating perimeter.

In English, we started our short writing unit on explanation texts. We studied and discussed existing explanations texts, their purpose and structure.

We have continued working on our throwing and catching technique in PE. We set up some competitive games which the children loved!

We looked at Maundy Thursday in RE - The Last Supper. The children discussed the emotions of the disciples and wrote a diary entry as one of them.

We tried our hand at stitching in art and the children were brilliantly patient! There is nothing more frustrating than the thread falling out of the needle! We focussed on the running stitch in this lesson and will look at the backstitch and blanket stitch next week.

We finished our science unit by writing up our investigation and also our computing focus on simulations.

One more week to go! This term has flown by!
