History - Alfred the Great
In groups we looked at and discussed, ways in which Alfred was the only King who had Great after his name.
Platinum Jubilee Celebrations
We celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and had a great time. In the morning we did some research for our decade which was 1970's. We looked at the Silver jubilee and other important events from that decade. We then displayed our work in the hall for all the other classes who had done their own decade. We made some Lego models of those events. Some children explained this to the others. We also had a special visit from the Blackburn Mayor, who looked at our work and gave prizes for the best dressed.
We had visits from our families during our lunch time, unfortunately due to the weather we had to take our picnic inside. We had a wonderful day.
