It is amazing to finally have us all back together again in school!!! We have continued with our learning whilst we have been at home and some of our amazing work has been shared on Purple Mash display boards and our class blogs.
Now back in school we are learning about North America in Geography, the book of Daniel in RE, shape and angles in Maths and continuing with our story of Professor Branestawm in English. In Science this term we are exploring forces and have been combining this with our outdoor learning. Our PE topic is Badminton, which lots of us haven't tried before!
Have a look at some photographs of our science and some of the extra activities we have taken part in - World book day, Hope week.
Year 5 have had a busy start to the school year. We have been learning about 'The Battle of Britain' in our history lessons, exploring the properties of materials in science through class work and outdoor sessions and reading Beowolf and Oliver Twist as part of our English lessons. In art, we looked at the work of Clarice Cliff and recreated art in this style. In PE we have been running and jumping and improving our technique. Maths has been tricky but we are getting there, trying hard with our column methods for calculations and looking at different sorts of data (graphs, bar charts and tables) whilst also practicing our times tables on TT Rockstars. In RE we have been looking at the Bible and in our computing lessons we are becoming coding experts, our coding can be seen on the Purple Mash Year 5 Display Board.
