Year Five Homework

Homework

The children will receive a Talk Token every Friday to review their learning from the week in school. Please support the your child with this. It is a recap on our learning and should take around 20 minutes altogether. This could be done all in one go or in smaller parts. Please could this then be returned to school on the following Monday. If homework is forgotten or your child is absent, the information will be added on the website too. If there is a reason why the children have been unable to complete their home learning, please add a note to their book or come and let us know about it, thank you.

Topic homework – The children receive some topic based activities that they can do at home over the course of the half term. We try to make these activities fun and enjoyable to provide opportunity to spend quality time together at home whilst continuing your child’s learning. Topic homework can be recorded in their homework books or brought into school in other forms. There will be some examples given to help to support the children’s ideas.

Talk tokens – Each week your child will receive a talk token in their homework book. This will provide opportunities for your child to share and discuss the things that they have been learning about in class. Please feel free to make comments of your own.

Other Homework

Please practise your child’s times tables with them as frequently as possible as this unlocks quick thinking skills and fact retrieval that will aid understanding in many other areas of Maths. Occasionally additional homework or spellings may be sent home linked to a specific lesson or event that week.

If you have any questions, please come and see us.

Thank you.

Mr Mason and Mrs Kelly
