A Snapshot of our Learning this Week

Computing
In Computing this week, we began our coding unit using Purple Mash. The children learnt that computers follow instructions, known as code. They practised giving and following simple instructions, using symbols to represent actions, and arranging code blocks to create their own sets of instructions. This helped to build their understanding of how programs work in a fun and practical way.

PE
On Wednesday we started our striking & fielding unit, focusing on developing our underarm throwing and catching skills. We focused on watching and tracking the ball carefully to improve accuracy and control.

Guided Reading
In Guided Reading this week, we explored a non-fiction text about black rhinos. We discussed the meaning of new vocabulary and then highlighted key words within the text. The children then answered a range of questions to help them find information, think more deeply about what they had read and explain their ideas clearly.
