Learning Snapshot

What another busy and exciting week we have had in Year 4! In History, we have enjoyed learning all about Tudor apprentices and were shocked to discover that some children began working from as young as 8 years old during the Tudor period. In English, we have been developing our grammar knowledge by exploring similes, expanded noun phrases and speech marks, and we have been working hard to use these features in our own writing. We had lots of fun experimenting sounds and vibrations in science at each sound station. Our teachers have been especially impressed with our Maths learning this week, as we have challenged ourselves to find 1, 10, 100 or 1,000 more or less than numbers up to 10,000. In Art, we continued developing our shading skills, while in PSHE we worked together to create our class agreement and rules to help make Year 4 a happy and positive place to learn. In RE, we discussed our values and explored what they can mean to people both of faith and not of faith. We have certainly packed a lot into Week 2 and are very proud of all the hard work taking place in Year 4!
