It has been a busy and inspiring week in class, packed with teamwork, problem-solving, and out-of-this-world discoveries!

Maths

We deepened our understanding of place value, working confidently with numbers all the way up to 1 million. The children showed great focus identifying the exact value of each digit in large numbers.

English

Our journey with the Apollo 11 moon landing text continued! This week, we hunted for adventurous new vocabulary and analysed our example text to uncover the key features that will help us craft our own writing next week.

Science

Working in partners, we put different materials to the test to discover which were magnetic and which could conduct electricity. It was fantastic to see so much teamwork, adaptation, and hands-on problem-solving.

PE

In invasion games, we honed our skills by focusing on quick, accurate passing to retain possession. The children then put these techniques to the test during tactical sessions, playing some brilliant competitive games.

Geography

We headed to the mountains to explore the Alps, focusing on land height as well as the fascinating human and physical geography of the region.

Friday Highlight: NASA Livestream

We wrapped up the week with an incredible live stream featuring two NASA engineers who worked on the Artemis mission! It linked beautifully to our English work, giving us tons of insightful information—including the fascinating (and popular!) topic of how toilets work in space.
