    Year 6 – A Fun-Filled Week!

We’ve had another fantastic week in Year 6, with lots going on!

As part of the Year of Reading, we also joined in with the Guinness World Record reading challenge, celebrating our love of books and the importance of reading. We celebrated Yellow Day for Mental Health Awareness, taking part in Take 10 by setting aside ten minutes from our busy day to enjoy a relaxing activity and focus on our wellbeing. It was a lovely opportunity to pause, recharge and discover simple ways to look after our mental health.

In science, we completed our bread mould experiment and wrote conclusions, using scientific vocabulary to explain our findings.

In PE, we brought together all the invasion skills we have developed throughout the half term, showcasing our progress, teamwork and sporting abilities. What a busy week full of learning, new experiences and fun!

Yar 5 & 6 also enjoyed Materials World, an exciting and interactive STEM performance delivered in partnership with BAE Systems and the Royal Navy. The session was packed with fascinating science, engaging demonstrations and plenty of audience participation, bringing the world of materials and engineering to life. It was great fun and a fantastic opportunity to explore STEM in the real world!
