My name is Miss Tindall and it is both a privilege and a joy to serve as the Headteacher of this very special school.
St. James' has been at the heart of my professional journey for almost a decade. From my first days as a student teacher, through roles as class teacher, Deputy Headteacher and SENCo, to now leading the school as Headteacher, I have had the honour of growing alongside the children, families, staff and wider community that make St. James' such a remarkable place. This school is far more than where I work; it is a community I care deeply about and one that I am incredibly proud to lead.
At St. James', we believe that every child is unique, valued and wonderfully made. Our mission is to ensure that every member of our school family flourishes academically, spiritually, socially and emotionally. As a Church of England school, our Christian vision sits at the centre of all that we do, guiding our decisions, shaping our relationships and inspiring our ambitions for every child.
Our foundation scriptures, Jeremiah 29:11 and John 10:10, remind us that God has a purpose for each of us and calls us to live life in all its fullness. These words are not simply displayed on our walls; they are woven into everyday life at St. James'. Through inspiring collective worship, a rich and engaging curriculum, meaningful enrichment opportunities and a culture built on care and belonging, we strive to help every child discover their gifts, develop their character and realise their potential.
We are incredibly proud of the strong partnership we share with our families, church, Diocese and local community. Together, we create an environment where children feel safe, loved and empowered to thrive. We understand that education is about far more than academic success alone. Alongside high expectations for learning, we place great importance on nurturing children's emotional wellbeing, physical health, confidence and resilience. Whether through our nurture provision, sporting opportunities, outdoor learning, extracurricular activities or the everyday support we provide, our goal is to develop happy, confident young people who are ready to make a positive difference in the world.
Our values of Love, Forgiveness, Truth, Compassion, Justice and Thankfulness are lived out every day in the way we learn, work and care for one another. Visitors often comment on the warmth, kindness and sense of family they experience when they walk through our doors, and these qualities are something we cherish deeply.
St. James' is a school where children are known, valued and encouraged to dream big. It is a place where lifelong memories are made, talents are discovered, faith is nurtured and futures are shaped.
I hope our website gives you a flavour of all that makes St. James' such a special place. However, nothing compares to seeing our school in action. If you would like to find out more, please do get in touch or come and visit us. I would be delighted to welcome you personally and share with you everything that makes our school community so unique.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
