Our Peer Mentors are trained to work with other pupils around their wellbeing. They are in post for a year until they leave school and pass this on to the next year group. We have eleven Peer Mentors. Ten are timetabled at lunchtimes and one is the reserve to cover absences. Each half term they work with one mentee each in pairs at lunchtimes. They enjoy eating lunch together and doing various activities.

Our peer mentors came up with three main aims for this year:
π Spread Kindness and Positivity
We will plan activities and ideas that help everyone feel happy, safe and supported in school.
π Support Friendships
We will help children build strong friendships and make sure no one feels left out.
πΌ Raise Awareness of Mental Health
We will share ways to look after our wellbeing and remind everyone that it’s good to talk about our feelings.
Our Peer Mentors led a special Worship all about World Mental Health Day.
π The main messages they shared were:
Taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body.
You are never alone – there is always someone who will listen and help.
They reminded everyone that tomorrow is Hello Yellow Day π – a chance to show support for mental health awareness by adding some yellow to our school uniform.
We are really proud of our Peer Mentors for leading this Worship and helping us all to remember how important it is to look after our wellbeing. πβ¨
