The children thoroughly enjoyed celebrating World Book Day this week and we were very impressed with the level of vocabulary used in 'Dress up as a word!' We took part in the Great Footy and Booky quiz online and created our own reading journals.  The highlight of the day was the end of day book swap and buddy reading session.  The children always love catching up with their reception buddies, and what better way to do it than with a good book!

In science, we learnt about air resistance and conducted our own parachute investigation to test how the size of the parachute affects the speed at which it hits the ground.  Excellent scientific vocavocab was used by the children to describe their findings and conclusions.

The children are enjoying their outdoor adventurous activity unit in PE which is helping to develop their communication skills and their team working skills. Well done Year 5 - what an excellent week!
