What a fabulous week we have had in Reception. We have been exploring doubles in maths. We made symmetrical butterflies with matching dots on each side to explore the doubling pattern. We also used mirrors and dot patterns at our doubling station. The children have continued to build upon their knowledge of animals during play and learn by choosing to build shelters in the construction area and habitats outdoors. We even found a weak bumblebee and rescued him! We gave him some sugary juice and flowers and placed him in one of the habitats we had built whilst he regained his strength. The children called him Honey Jeff. In English we have continued with writing our own versions of Little Red. Our writing is really coming along and the staff are so proud of the children's progress. We also made some bird feeders and made our own collage pictures in the style of the artist Megan Coyle.
