Snapshot of Learning this Week

Smoothies 🍓🍌🍍🍊

This week in DT, Year 1 had a fantastic time making their own smoothies! The children each chose two fruits and one juice before carefully preparing their ingredients. They practised important skills such as cutting safely with a table knife and using the blenders independently.

We had bananas, apples, oranges and pineapple to choose from and there were some very interesting flavour combinations! The classroom was filled with excitement as the children tasted their creations and talked about their favourites.

There were some absolutely delicious smoothies and the children were so proud of what they had made!

Library Trip with Year 3 📚✨

Last week, Year 1 enjoyed a lovely trip to the library alongside Year 3. The children loved exploring the different books, sharing stories together and spending time with other children.

It was wonderful to see the older children supporting and encouraging Year 1 as they looked through the books and talked about their favourite stories. The trip helped to inspire a love of reading and gave the children the opportunity to enjoy books in a different environment.

We all had a fantastic time and cannot wait to visit again soon!
