Year 5: Week 1 Highlights

Welcome to Year 5! What a fantastic first week back to school we have had. The children have settled into their new classroom routine brilliantly and dived straight into a busy week of fun and engaging learning.

We kicked off the term with our Pupil Voice Manifestos, where the children presented their thoughtful ideas with impressive confidence and enthusiasm. In Design & Technology, our young engineers explored electrical circuits and successfully wired their own systems to power a motor. Out on the field in PE, we focused on team strategy in invasion games, learning key skills and tactics to maintain possession of the ball.

To round off the week, Year 5 filled the school with music as we began studying traditional sea shanties—a lively session that you may have even heard drifting out through the classroom windows on Friday afternoon!

The children have made an extraordinarily positive start to the academic year. Their energy, curiosity, and fantastic attitudes towards learning have set a high standard for the term ahead. Well done for a brilliant first week, Year 5!
