PE – Throwing and Catching

In PE, we have continued developing our throwing and catching skills. This week, learned how to perform an underarm throw, focusing on looking at our target, stepping forwards and gently swinging our throwing arm. 

Ready to Write – Week 1

We began the first week of our new Ready to Write programme. Through our Strong Bodies activities, we developed the strength and stability needed for writing. Our Clever Fingers activities helped to improve our fine motor skills, while our Confident Writers work focused on pencil control and forming different lines, curves and patterns.

Computing – Purple Mash

In Computing, we learnt how to log on to the school laptops using our username. We then logged into our Purple Mash accounts and began exploring the platform. The children particularly enjoyed personalising their accounts by choosing and changing their avatars!

Geography – Our Classroom Maps

In Geography, we explored what our classroom looks like from an aerial view. We created “messy maps” of the classroom using objects and resources from around the room. We thought carefully about where different features were positioned and represented them as though we were looking down from above.
