It has been a busy and exciting time in Reception this week!

In Religious Education, the children have been celebrating their individuality by talking about what makes each of us different and special, while in Worship we have been learning about how God made the world. To prepare for our phonics sessions starting next week, we have been playing plenty of fun Phase 1 sound games, and we've also been exploring creative mark making by experimenting with wax crayons and making textured crayon rubbings. Outdoors, the children enjoyed collecting colourful autumn leaves and discussing the seasonal changes taking place around us. We have started our English sessions this week too. The children loved using their imaginations to predict what might be hiding inside the hole in our book, The Something. We peered inside a hole and looked at pictures of creatures which could be inside, and also examined illustrations from the book and talked about what we could see in small groups.
