    🔬 Science: Exploring Solubility

This week in Science, we dived into the concept of solubility. The children learned key scientific terms including solutions, solvents, and solutes. Through hands-on exploration, we tested whether different materials would dissolve in warm water, carefully recording our observations to classify which items acted as solutes.

We also made connections to prior learning by discussing reversible solutions and recalling how evaporation can separate a solute from a solvent. Looking ahead, the children brainstormed ideas for future investigations, including how changing the surface area—such as using different sizes of chalk—might affect the rate of solubility.

    🚀 English: Preparing Mission Reports

Our space topic is in full launch! This week, the children worked collaboratively in groups to gather ideas for writing their own mission reports. To build technical vocabulary and understand authentic phrasing, we watched interviews with real astronauts and analysed historical reports from the Apollo 11 mission. The children are thoroughly engaged with learning about the Moon and space, generating brilliant ideas and descriptive language to use in their upcoming writing.

    French: Animal Mash-Ups

In French, creativity met grammar as the children designed their own original "animal mash-ups." They practiced applying gender rules in French, successfully constructing sentences that used masculine and feminine forms correctly to describe various body parts of their custom creatures.
