    English

We had an engaging week writing to our local MP regarding the proposed downsizing of our local park for new housing. The children analysed formal letters and worked hard to use persuasive language and formal vocabulary to share their views on local leisure facilities. They wrote passionately about their community and asked for the MP's support in improving the park.

    Maths

In Maths, the children applied their place value knowledge to multiply and divide numbers by 10, 100, and 1,000, showing fantastic understanding and progress.

    Science

Our young scientists investigated various mixtures and explored different separation techniques, including sieving, filtering, and using magnets. Working effectively in groups, they tested and determined which methods worked best for each mixture.

    Library Visit with Reception Buddies

We walked to the local library alongside our Reception buddies. Together, we explored the shelves, shared favourite stories, and enjoyed a group storytime session at the end. We are already looking forward to our next buddy catch-up!

    Stay and Learn Event

It was wonderful to welcome parents, carers, family, and friends into our classroom for our Stay and Learn event. The children enjoyed taking on the role of teacher, guiding their guests through interactive activity stations—including Science experiments on solubility, Design & Technology (making doodlers), English descriptive writing, French monster descriptions, and more.

    Yeehaw Disco!

We finished off with a fantastic time at the Yeehaw Disco! The children enjoyed line dancing, visits to the tuck shop, and plenty of fun on the dance floor.
