What a lovely week we have had in Reception. We have been continuing to write our own versions of Juniper Jupiter as well as practising writing CVC words. In phonics we have learned the sounds ‘ch’ and ‘sh’. We did a science experiment where we explored which materials absorbed water and which were waterproof. We used pipettes and water to squeeze droplets onto the materials and made careful observations. In maths we have looked at 6 and 7 as being ‘5 and a bit’ and used double dice frames to represent this. During play and learn, some of the children found some round stones which they decided were eggs and spent a long time working together to create a safe home for them in the sand area.
