We've had a wonderful week in Reception. The children have enjoyed discovering what our new text in English is - Little Red. In our hook lesson, we explored the different items and made predictions about who they could belong to and what the story could be. The children's suggestions were very impressive. In Maths we have been exploring the counting staircase again, but this time looking at numbers 5 - 10 as 5 'and a bit', each number one more than the previous. We have begun to discuss different types of animals and how they need different conditions to survive. The children created some amazing drawings of animal faces and enjoyed

making animal patterns in the creative area.
