It has been a high-energy week of precision and storytelling! Our students have been busy honing their physical skills, engineering playground structures, and stepping into the shoes of world-class narrators.
We took a deep dive into the world of documentary narratives this week. Taking inspiration from the legendary David Attenborough, students wrote dramatic scripts for a wildlife clip featuring a tense standoff between a wolf pack and a black bear.
The Focus: Using technical and formal vocabulary to sound like experts.
The Challenge: Utilizing advanced punctuation to control the pace and "voice" of the narration, ensuring the story was as educational as it was thrilling.
We stepped up to the crease to focus on the fundamentals of bowling and batting.
The Goal: Mastering the "straight arm" bowling technique.
The Result: Plenty of direct hits on the wickets! We also worked on our batting stance to ensure we're ready for any delivery.
This week, we shifted our focus to racket control. We spent the week developing our forehand returns, focusing on:
Perfecting the "low to high" swing motion.
Improving hand-eye coordination to ensure consistent returns over the net.
Our "Playground Project" is officially moving from paper to reality! Students have begun constructing the structures for their small-scale models.
Skills used: Precision measuring, joining materials, and ensuring structural stability.
Next up: Testing our designs for "playability" and adding those final aesthetic details.
