Autumn 1

PE information:

For Autumn 1 our PE days are Wednesday and Friday

The children will need to come to school in their school PE kit. This must be a plain white t-shirt with black bottoms such as leggings, shorts or joggers and a pair of trainers or black PE pumps. Please remember to take out earrings on PE days, as children cannot join in with PE if they are in.

Week 6 - This week Year 2 have been showing their expressive sides in class, completing observational drawings of teddies in art, using percussion instruments in music for call and response and using role play in English to identify the dangers of rowing on a river.

Week 5 - We have had a fun week in Year 2, not only getting to enjoy holding our grown chicks, but drawing them in Art, before we said goodbye. We enjoyed creative worship in church were we made rockets. Some of our class represented the school in a football tournament and others at a multi-skills event.

Week 4 - We have had a very busy week, this week in Year 2. We have welcomed our little chicks, that have brightened up the classroom with their chirping. We have continued to develop our cricket skills in PE, and wrote the majority of our own stories based on our text 'A river'. Not to mention our reycling workshop and our trip to the library.

Week 3 - This week Year 2 have been delving through the history of St James' in history, looking at schools' in the past, looking at the effects we can make with different surfaces in Art and recognising which food groups different foods belong to in Science.

Week 2 - This week Year 2 have been working hard investigating features of a text in English, focusing on using different ball skills in PE and voting for which children we feel will be the best representatives for our class for the different Pupil Voice Groups. All will be revealed next week!🗳️🕵️🎾

Week 1 - We have learning about - looking at understanding place value with a focus on tens and ones in Maths, drawing a map of a familiar route in geography, developing their fundamental skills and ball skills in PE and we have been introduced to our new text 'A river' in English
