This week in Year 1 has been a very busy one!
It has been assessment week, and the children have worked incredibly hard on their maths, reading and GPS assessments. We are so proud of the effort, focus and determination they have shown.
In English, we have continued writing our Rapunzel stories. This week we finished our pieces using our ‘Problem Penguin’ and ‘Elephant Ending’. The children’s writing have continued to blow us all away!
In History, we explored how special events are remembered and talked about the different ways we all celebrate our birthdays.
In PE, the children continued developing their team-building skills through a range of activities. One favourite was leading a blindfolded partner to collect beanbags and drop them into a hoop — this took clear instructions, trust and great teamwork!
Our Nativity practice has also ramped up this week, and the children are amazing us with their confidence and performance skills. We are very excited to begin practising over at Church on the stage next week!
