    Week 5

We have had a fantastic week in Year 2, showing off our creative sides. In Art we have started to use our target skills to make a special collage creation. We look forward to showing off our finished work next week. In our PE and sports, our dodgeball stars excelled in the competition at Audley Infant school. We celebrated this half-term’s learning in History and Science in particular through our Year 2 assembly, and topped it off with some talented singers, dancers, footballers and comedians in our J Factor Auditions.

    Week 2

This week Year 2 have been using their collaborative skills to analyse language features within a text in English. They have learnt the inverse of multiplication is division and looking at sharing equally into groups to divide. In English we have used role play to explore the feelings of the Bog Baby before writing a character description. In Science, the children explored what would make a secure and stable bridge by trialling different materials for their own bridges and deciding which would be the most suitable. Finally in Art we were exploring the work of Jasper Johns who draws and paints the numbers 0-9. We started by using our primary colours and went on to mix these to use our secondary colours.
