It’s been another fantastic week of learning in Year 6!
In English, we started our new unit all about The Origin of Species. The children explored the text, learned lots of new vocabulary, and used drama role-play to gather ideas for their own writing.
In Science, we began our learning about inheritance. Using dog breeds as examples, we explored how offspring inherit different characteristics from their parents and how this leads to variation within a species. We even imagined what the offspring of two different breeds could look like!
In Maths, we continued our work on ratio, applying our knowledge to fractions and solving a variety of ratio problems.
In Art, we kicked off our drawing unit by looking at street art. We discussed whether graffiti is art, explored how artists express ideas and messages, and began planning our own mural designs in our sketchbooks.
In PE, we started our dance unit, experimenting with different movements in groups and beginning to put together a routine that we will develop over the next few weeks.
Well done, Year 6, for another week of creativity, curiosity, and hard work!
