Week 4

We’ve had a really busy and exciting week in Year 6!

In English, we finished writing our diary entries based on Rose Blanche. Everyone worked so hard and used some brilliant vocabulary to bring their writing to life.

In Maths, we’ve been practising multiplication and division and growing more confident with tricky questions.

Spelling took us outside this week—we used orienteering maps on the playground to go on a spelling word hunt. It was great fun!

On Friday, we went to the library with Year 5. We enjoyed choosing and sharing books together, and we loved listening to a story being read to us.

In History, we learned all about the suffragettes and suffrage. We found out how some women boycotted the 1911 census to protest for the right to vote. We even got to see examples of the census documents where they had written their protests!

In Art, we have started learning about photography. We used props from around school to recreate famous paintings, including The Girl with the Pearl Earring. The results were brilliant and made us all smile!

What a fantastic week of learning—we can’t wait to see what next week brings!
