This week has been another busy and exciting one in Year 6!
In Cricket, we focused on improving our batting skills and played a fun game called ‘Run Till You’re Out’. The children showed great enthusiasm and teamwork throughout the session.
During Spelling, we practised our new words through a lively Spelling Relay. The competition was fierce, and everyone showed fantastic effort and encouragement for their teammates!
In English, we began planning our Bravery Award Speeches for Rose Blanche. We explored a range of inspiring quotes about bravery and discussed how we could include them in our speeches. We also learned how to add parenthesis to our sentences using commas to add extra detail.
This week, we also completed our first set of practice SATs tests. The children approached these with maturity and positivity—showing real determination and focus. We are very proud of how hard everyone has worked.
In Science, we concluded our investigation into microorganisms, looking closely at how mould grows on bread. After leaving our slices for a week, we observed the changes and drew conclusions about the conditions needed for mould to grow—some very interesting results!
Our Peer Mentors led a thoughtful worship about World Mental Health Day, reminding us of the importance of looking after our wellbeing. To end the week, we all wore yellow for ‘Hello Yellow Day’ to raise awareness and show our support for mental health.
Well done, Year 6, for another brilliant week of learning and teamwork! 🌟
