Week 7

It has been a wonderfully festive and memorable week in Year 6!

We kicked off the celebrations with a Christmas party alongside Year 5. The children enjoyed delicious food, played games, took part in a dance-off and, most importantly, had lots of fun together.

English
In English, the children wrote their own newspaper reports, using both formal and informal quotes. They focused carefully on speech punctuation, the passive voice and selecting appropriate formal vocabulary, producing some excellent pieces of writing.

DT
We completed our DT bag projects, adding pockets and decorative embellishments before evaluating the finished products. The children showed great pride in their work and reflected thoughtfully on their designs.

Performances
We took part in the Christmas Carol Concert at church, where we performed The Twelve Days of Christmas and a short drama sketch showing the nativity night when Jesus was born. The children performed beautifully and represented the school wonderfully.

Looking ahead, we are busy preparing a new drama sketch for “Carols Around the Tree” on the last day of term. This performance is light-hearted and funny and is sure to capture the magic of Christmas time.
