This Week in Year 1 🌟
This week in Year 1 has been full of fun and learning!
🎤 Worship: We performed a fantastic rap all about our trailblazer Stormzy during whole school Worship. The children loved sharing what they had learned and performed with great confidence!
🗺️ Geography: We have been learning all about maps. Out on the playground, we drew what we could see and carefully thought about where each thing should go on our own maps. At the end, Miss Bryan stood right in the middle — so of course, we added her to our maps too!
🏃♂️ PE: In PE, we took part in some exciting races in our precious stone teams, using the fundamental skills we’ve been working hard to improve.
🪵 DT: We designed and created our very own stable pencil pots. We made sure they had a wide base, added weight to the bottom, and tested them to check how stable they were — with some brilliant results!
It’s been a fabulous first half term in Year 1, and Miss Bryan, Mrs Flanagan and Miss Mack are so proud of everything the children have achieved! 💛
