Week 6

We celebrated on-line safety day on Tuesday starting the day with a school assembly.  Year 6 learned about phishing and how to identify a 'scam'. In their Kagan groups they reviewed a selection of social media excerpts and identified which ones looked like scams.

The children wrote some beautiful poems with imagery, using figurative language.  The similes, metaphors and personification really brought the pieces to life!

For our oracy outcome this half term the children have written and performed their own rap in science about evolution and adaptation.  They worked in groups to develop their oracy skills, focussing on using varying sentence structures and length for effect when speaking including scientific vocabulary such as, adaptation, evolution, inheritance.  Click on the link below to watch!
