Blackburn Rovers Gulp Project
Year 4 are lucky enough to have Blackburn Rovers come into school to discuss with them the risks of drinking energy drinks, and the amount of sugar some drinks have concealed in them. The children love being involved in the discussions, over the next week there is an experiment in the classroom. Eggs are soaked in Coca Cola, orange juice and water, they children will review the eggs next week to see what effects the drinks have had on the shell. The children also love having the opportunity to play games with the Blackburn Rovers ladies who attend.
PE
Mr Walmsley got everybody out into the fresh air on Thursday afternoon, the children thoroughly enjoyed learning cricket skills. They had the opportunity to hone these skills in the games afterwards.
The children are extremely competitive, so the games became very interesting indeed.
English
It was the final week of learning about 'The Mousehole Cat'. All the children were asked to write an independent story about their Storm creature. The standard of work was amazing. Mr Walmsley and Mrs Hudson were astonished at the standard of the children's use of the English language produced within their work.
Well done guys, you blew our socks off.
