Well, we are half way through the term now and only have 3 more weeks to go! This week in Year 5, we had probably the busiest week so far this New Year!

Careers Week

Yes, this week was Careers Week here at St James'! We had visits from lots of different people who had lots of different careers! The careers that we were able to hear about ranged from Police Community Support Officers to Drummers, Social Workers to Photographers and even a Mural Artist and a Dance Instructor; they were all brilliant to hear about! 

We began the week by writing down what different career we would like when we are older. Then, throughout the week, we had different visitors come and tell us all about their jobs and we even watched some video's of people telling us about the different types of jobs they do. We made the most of the experience by asking lots of questions to our guests and it inspired all of us! Part way through the week, we logged onto Developing Experts and took a test. We answered a range of questions to help AI show us a range of jobs that we could do based on our skills and passions! We got the chance at the end of the week to re-write what career we wanted when we are older after meeting all of our special guests!
