Prayer

Prayer at St James'

Prayer is a daily and integral part of life at St James'.

We use a mixture of formal prayer, objects, improvisation, individual and group prayer to build our connection with God. We thank and praise God, we ask for help, we say sorry and we pray for ourselves and others.

Every day we pray during worship, before dinner time and at the end of the day.

Our school prayer was written by our Pupil Voice Group and is used by our whole school, including staff and governors:

Our School Prayer

Here are some of our children saying our school prayer.

Our School Prayer (full version)

The Worship Warriors run a prayer group where we pray for anybody who has put a slip in the prayer request box. The slips are available to all children and staff. When we have prayed, the person who made the prayer request will receive a little slip to let them know they have been prayed for! This system was thought of by the Worship Warriors with Miss Scholfield, and the slips were designed by the children.
