Week 2

We have had a super busy week this week in Year 1. We have enjoyed getting used to our new routines and timetable. We have worked really hard and tried our best to work more independently!

Outdoor Learning

This week in our Outdoor Learning session we completed an Autumn trail. We had to listen, look and think about what we can hear, see and wear in Autumn. This is part of our new Science topic - Seasonal Changes.

Maths

In Maths this week we have started our Number and Place Value topic with Miss Whaley. We have been learning to group objects and count objects within a group of 10.

With Mrs Blackburn we started our Shape topic on Wednesday. We used the 3D shapes on our tables.

English

In English we have been building up to read our new key text. We made predictions about what may happen in the story based on the front cover, and we wrote some super sentences too! Once we read the book, we did some role play in pairs to retell the story. Our key text is Lost & Found by Oliver Jeffers.

On Wednesday with Mrs Blackburn, we began to talk about dogs. Building up for our new poetry unit this half term. We loved sharing our pictures of dogs and toy dogs!
