Week 2

Outdoor Learning

In our Outdoor Learning session this week, we took our sketchbooks outside to draw our observations. Our intention was to concentrate upon the lines that we could see, with a focus on attention to detail. Unfortunately, the weather let us down and we had to complete our lesson by looking out of the windows.

Year 5 Blog - Mrs Kirby

What an amazing week we have had in Year 5! We are continuing to read the text, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, in English. We have practised a variety of grammar skills such as writing sentences that include prepositional phrases and writing dialogue. In maths, we have been learning about equivalent fractions. This requires that we are really secure with our times tables knowledge. Our most exciting day was Friday as we were really lucky to watch a performance of Sleeping Beauty. Friday was also a day of reflection as we took part in a minute's silence to commemorate Remembrance Day.
