Week 2

What we've been up to this week...

In Maths, we have been continuing to look at fractions. We recapped our knowledge of thirds and also learnt about unit and non-unit fractions. A unit fraction has a numerator of 1 and a non-unit fraction has a numerator of more than 1. We also looked at equivalent fractions, making the whole and counting in fractions.

In English, we continued reading the Iron Man and used the text to discuss types of nouns. We explored the thoughts and feelings of the Iron Man whilst practising punctuating direct speech.

We started our Design and Technology project which is to design and make a sturdy frame to contain a nature creation. We created a list of design criteria together and looked at existing frames for ideas. We then created two designs.

We enjoyed our Spanish lesson with Miss Williams, looking at the Spanish words for family members.

In history we looked at some remains of hillforts - the largest artefacts in Britain. We identified and described the features they had in common and discussed what this might tell us about life in Iron Age Britain.
