Week 3

Week 3

What a busy week!

The children have done an amazing job writing their own underwater narrative for the film 'Something Fishy' which they got to read to the children in Year 1 this week.

We had lots of fun during our outdoor learning session linked to our guided reading text, 'The day the crayons quit'. They had to find hidden jigsaw pieces and complete the jigsaw as quick as they could! The children then developed their oracy and reasoning skills outside by talking about how the book links to real life and by drawing and talking about their own crayons!  I think Mrs Pickering had as much fun as the children!!

In DT this week we have been investigating different types of structures and  exploring how to make structures stronger, stiffer and more stable.  The winning team were able to make a structure out of paper which was strong enough to hold 22 books!

Transition mornings took place this week and the children thoroughly enjoyed visiting their new classroom and meeting their new Year 3 teachers in the juniors.

A lovely week has been had by all!
