Year 6

This half term, Year 6 have been learning all about the census in History and have used local census records to uncover what life was like in Victorian Lower Darwen.

Our young historians focused their research on Stopes Brow, discovering fascinating facts about a local resident, James Hacking, who lived there in 1891. They explored his childhood, home and the different jobs he held throughout his life.

To showcase their amazing work, Year 6 held a special class exhibition and invited Year 3 and Year 4 to visit. Pupils presented their findings through artwork, timelines, posters and even a podcast!

What a brilliant way to bring history to life — well done, Year 6!
