Week 3

RE - The Last Supper

This week we learnt about the part of the Easter story when Jesus had 'The Last Supper' with his disciples.

It was very sad when Jesus told his disciples that he was going to die the next day.

He gave them all bread and told them it was a symbol of his body and he gave them wine and told them it was a symbol of his blood.

We had our very own last supper and we drank wine (Vimto) and ate bread!

Computing

We have decided to change the computing curriculum at St James' and introduce logging into and using laptops in Reception Class. This will allow children to access the computing curriculum straight away in Year 1.

I am so glad we made that decision! The children have been absolutely awesome at this and made so much progress over the lesson!

This week we went into the ICT suite and the children logged into Purple Mash and had a go at changing their Avatar!

World Book Day

On World Book Day, we all came to school dressed as a Wow word and had fun parading round the classroom at the start of the day.

We read 'Pirates Love Underpants' at the beginning of the day and the day was themed around the story. We wrote a poem as a class about a pirate and the children had pirate themed activities out in class.

We learnt a poem and the children who wanted to performed this in the assembly at the end of the day. We also went into the hall with Y3 and Y6 to share different stories.

It was a great day!
