Week 1

Welcome back from our Christmas break.

We were lucky enough to get a snow day on Monday, so our spring term started on Tuesday.

What we have learnt this week in year 5

English

In English this term we are learning about Narrative texts. The book we are reading is "The Portal", this book is a science fiction book.

The class have been looking at what a science fiction book will include and what the content would be about.

The children seem to be enjoying it so far. They have been making predictions about the story.

Science

This term our science topic will be space.

We have been learning about the planets in our solar system.

PE

This term PE is partly about fitness and stamina. The children started off by assessing their own level.

They were then asked if they could skip continuously for 30 seconds. All of the class found it difficult
