Meet the team!

The class teacher is Mrs Malik. 

We have an excellent team of support staff in class consisting of Mrs Dewhurst, Miss Borrett and Mrs Robinson.

Mrs Wilton teaches the class on Thursday afternoons.

This year our P.E days are Monday and Thursday. Children will need to come to school in their school PE kit. This must be a plain white t-shirt or the red school P.E t-shirt with black bottoms such as leggings, shorts or joggers and a pair of trainers or black PE pumps. If it is cold, your child can bring a plain black cardigan or jumper to wear. Earrings will need to be removed or taped for P.E lessons.

In Year 6 we will be reading with your child on a 1:1 basis alongside guided reading sessions. 
Your child will need to bring their book bag with their reading books and reading record in every day.
Your child will bring home two books. Their main book is their banded reading book and is based on their own individual reading ability. Their second book is a book of their choice which is to encourage reading for pleasure. Please encourage your child to read daily as this is proven to greatly increase fluency and understanding.
 
When your child has read please sign their reading record as they will be awarded with a 'Homework Hero' raffle ticket to go into our prize draw at the end of each half term.
 

Homework will be sent home in a homework book every Friday and should be returned to school completed by the following Friday. Children will be given a list of spellings and will have a quiz on them the following week.  Children will also be given a weekly talk token which will help develop their oracy skills and enable you to find out about what they have been learning at school,  They will receive homework raffle tickets for each piece of homework completed.
