We have been using cubes and counters to help deepen our understanding of algebra. We have used them to represent equations which we have then written in our books.
In English, we explored the famous witches' poem: Double double toil and trouble...
The children explored what poetic features they could see in the poem and also analysed the rhythm by counting the syllables in each line. They collaborated as a class to generate ideas and re-wrote their own versions of the poem using the same rhythm pattern. They were very proud of their work and some of the children performed to the class.
This week Year 6 enjoyed their extra play that they received for winning Class of the Week last week!
Ellie and Libby have been enjoying our Macbeth work in English so much that they have done extra work at home! They were very excited to share their writing about Macbeth with us all at school. Well done, girls!
This week, the children learned how to perform some body percussion and sing some notes along with 'The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra'. They did a fantastic job!
